How do we as a state intend to move towards the legalization of cannabis in all forms when smokeable hemp is about to be banned?
I have been battling with depression and anxiety my entire life. From the age of 17 to 24 I drank heavily to deal with this burden. Alcohol is so very legal in the United States. However, my addiction, my LEGAL addiction, almost cost me my life.
When Governor Greg Abbott signed House Bill 1325 into law, I was finally able to find solace in hemp, smokeable hemp.
Do we want to continue to move backwards and give humans in Texas no other option but alcohol and nicotine? It saddens me deeply that we are moving so far back as a state.
Instead of the government and police forces adjusting their tactics and training to align with the 2020 hemp landscape, here we are, battling for liberties.
I hope you will consider these words and move our state forward and reconsider the ban on smokeable hemp. If these words don’t help, just think of the money that will be made.
